Roles and Responsibilities :
Design Leadership:
- Lead the jewellery design team to conceptualize and develop trend-forward, market-relevant jewellery collections.
- Oversee the end-to-end design process including sketching, CAD modeling (Matrix/Rhino), rendering, prototyping, and final design handover.
- Mentor junior designers, providing feedback and guidance on design aesthetics and technical execution.
CAD & Matrix Expertise:
- Create highly detailed 3D jewellery designs using Matrix, Rhino, and other CAD software.
- Ensure that all designs are technically feasible and optimized for manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot design-to-production issues and provide quick, accurate solutions.
Strategic & Creative Direction:
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, and Marketing teams to align design direction with brand and business objectives.
- Research and interpret jewellery trends, market insights, and customer preferences.
- Develop mood boards, theme presentations, and design storyboards for seasonal launches.
Team & Project Management:
- Allocate tasks and projects to team members, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Conduct regular design reviews, critique sessions, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the team maintains high levels of creativity, productivity, and innovation.
Quality & Compliance:
- Maintain high standards of design accuracy, finish, and manufacturability.
- Ensure all designs adhere to brand standards, costing requirements, and market-specific guidelines.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Liaise with suppliers, model makers, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
- Review samples and prototypes, providing technical feedback and necessary adjustments.
Key Skills Required :
- Demonstrated portfolio of commercial and high-end jewellery designs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Solid understanding of precious metals, gemstones, and production techniques.
- Ability to balance creativity with business objectives.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience :
Minimum 5 years of experience in jewellery design, with strong proficiency in Matrix and CAD software.
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Jewellery Design or related field from a reputed institute.
